Kylian Mbappé sealed a dramatic victory for PSG

It was a tense match as PSG were equalized by Brest after leading 2-0. However, in the final minutes of the match, PSG were awarded a penalty, and it was scored by Kylian Mbappé before he celebrated wildly in front of angry fans.

PSG claimed a lucky 3-2 win over Stade Brestois in Ligue 1 after Kylian Mbappé’s late goal to seal four straight wins.

Luis Enrique’s side, fresh from a 3-0 win over AC Milan in midweek, started confidently and broke the deadlock as Bradley Barcola overcame two challenges before finding Warren Zaire-Emery, who curled a shot from distance into the top corner to score a wonderful goal. The visitors continued to dominate and doubled their lead when Lee Kang-in pinged the ball over the top for Kylian Mbappe to bulldoze his way into the box and score.

Brest rallied and had two strong defensive efforts towards a penalty before they reduced the deficit before half-time when Steve Mounie headed home Kenny Lala’s cross.

The home team went behind in the second half but made it 2-2 from a Jeremie Le Douaron corner. Enrique brought on Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele for the final 30 minutes but Eric Roy’s side created the better chances through Mounie and Le Douaron and PSG held out.

But the visitors were awarded a penalty in the closing minutes when Muani was fouled and Mbappé converted his second goal of the match to seal a dramatic victory. This victory extended PSG’s unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 to 5 matches and put them one point behind leaders Nice. Meanwhile, Brest ranked sixth.

It was harsh for Brest, who were considered the most likely to win as Gianluigi Donnarumma made a number of crucial saves.
