Virat Kohli Hit His 50th ODI Hundred and Breaks Tendulkar’s Record

Virat Kohli has made an incredible 50th ODI Hundred and break Sachin Tendulkar’s Record to become the most ODI centuries in a World Cup.

In the 1st semi-final between India and New Zealand at the ICC World Cup 2023, Virat Kohli, the ‘King of Cricket‘ achieved his 50th ODI Hundred days after his 35th birthday and broke the record of ‘Legendary CricketerSachin Tendulkar.

Virat Kohli’s 50th ODI Hundred helped India achieve a great total score

After equals the 49th ODI Hundred record of Tendulkar at the 35th Birthday, Virat Kohli keep going and break the record with his centuries in the 1st match against Australia.

He reached the milestone in the 42nd over off the bowling of Lockie Ferguson, hitting eight fours and a six to reach three figures. This is the first time he reach to the knockout stages of the Cricket World Cup, and he also surpass Tendulkar’s record of most runs in a single edition of the World Cup by 50th ODI Hundred.

His record-breaking helped the Indian cricket team achieve an astonishing run total and became a key factor in India’s victory over New Zealand. Shreyas Iyer, who partnered with Kohli in this match was in great form and reached his hundred in just 67 balls, making him the Fastest centuries in a World Cup knockout, breaking the record of Adam Gilchrist with 72 balls in 2007.

This is Kohli’s 3st ODI centuries at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. The first century is in the match against Bangladesh, which was a successful run in Pune. The second is in previous stage with South Africa, which set the match-winning total for India to defeat the Proteas at Eden Garden, this match was also his 35th birthday, and also the day that he equals the 49th ODI Hundred record of Sachin Tendulkar.

After the 50th ODI Hundred of Kohli, the ‘legendary cricketer‘ Sachin Tendulkar was share a post on Instagram to celebrate Kohli. He wrote:

“The first time I met you in the Indian dressing room, you were pranked by other teammates into touching my feet, I couldn’t stop laughing that day. But soon, you touched my heart with your passion and skill. I am so happy for that young boy has grown into a ‘Virat’ player.
I couldn’t be happier about an Indian broke my record. And do it on the biggest stage in the World Cup”

Kohli showed top form in his ICC World Cup 2023, he scored a total of 711 runs at an average of 101.57 in 10 innings.

In the 1st semi-final match, the appearance of 2 importance person in his life: his love and his hero, Anushka and Tendulkar, which was made his 50th ODI hundred record more memorable and special.

“As I said stuff of dreams. Anushka was sitting right there, Sachin paaji was there too. It’s so difficult to explain this. If I could paint a perfect picture I would want this to be the picture. My life partner, the person I love the most is sitting there, my hero is sitting there and I was able to get the 50th ODI hundred in front of all of them and all these stands in Wankhede stadium as well, such a history venue so it was amazing.”
