The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise faced a major problem when Will Jacks and Reece Topley had to leave the team for the remaining IPL 2024.

This situation puts RCB’s IPL 2024 journey in a precarious position as both the players, particularly Will Jacks, have been crucial in their recent victories. With the playoff qualification hanging in the balance, Royal Challengers Bengaluru had just started to find their groove and this would compel them to make some unexpected adjustments.

The loss of both players has made concern about the chance of quality for the playoffs that RCB and their fans are aiming for. However, there is a prediction that Glenn Maxwell will replace Will Jack’s position.

The England batter, Will Jacks has played in IPL 2024 as his IPL Debut. He played in 8 matches for Royal Challengers Bengaluru and scored a total of 230 runs, including his maiden IPL century also his highest score this season. He has managed to score 16 fours and 18 sixes. In bowling, he has managed to score 2 wickets this season for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Reece Topley, a bowler from England, has played 4 matches for RCB this season. He scored 4 wickets in total 90 Balls with an average of 42.00 and an ECON of 11.20.

In terms of their qualification chances, RCB will face off against CSK in a crucial encounter, where they need to secure a victory either within 18.1 overs or win with a margin of 18 runs or more, to advance to the playoffs. They would also be hoping for SRH and LSG to lose their forthcoming matches, in order to make a surprising entry into the playoffs.

On April 30th, the ECB’s selection committee announced the squad for the upcoming home T20I series against Pakistan and the T20 World Cup 2024. The series against Pakistan coincides with the IPL 2024 season, hence, several England players from various franchises are returning to their homeland for it.


According to ESPNcricinfo, Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow, Sam Curran, and Phil Salt will be heading back to their home country over the week.
